How can you determine the Latitude / Longitude for a specific address?

There are two or more ways to obtain a Lat/Long.  

  1. The first shown below, uses Google Maps.  This can be used by persons who are using screen readers.  
  2. The second, shown below, uses Google Earth Pro.  This does require sight to use.

Google Maps

Searching for a location, whether a street address or a location (such as the Statue of Liberty depicted above, will result in the Lat/Long being part of the URL after the search has resolved.  Examine the URL and look for the "@" symbol, numbers thea follow are the latitude and longitude separated by a comma.  Note, the sign of the number is critical.

This does note require vision to obtain.

Using the "add placemark" function, as shown above.  Placing the "push pin" icon on the location-of-interest will display the Lat/Long in a pop-up window.

This requires vision to use.
